Noise Testing

Noise testing is done to evaluate noise hazards in the workplace. To accomplish this, ECG uses meters that measure in units of sound pressure levels called decibels.

ECG helps clients control and reduce worker exposure to noise in a workplace where exposure has been shown to be excessive. One approach is to use engineering controls (e.g., sound walls or curtains). Another approach involves administrative controls. Administrative controls represent changes in the workplace or schedule that reduce or eliminate the worker exposure to noise (e.g. operating noisy machines during shifts when fewer people are exposed).

The first steps in addressing a noise issue usually involve a conversation with an ECG industrial hygienist and an on-site walk-through. Let us help you evaluate potential noise hazards in your workplace.

To discuss your project, please call an ECG Certified Industrial Hygienist at 800-282-2084.
