ECG has extensive experience with indoor air quality investigations and testing. We understand the importance of responding quickly to our clients when indoor air quality problems arise. An ECG technician can typically be on site with testing equipment on the same day or the day after a call is received. In many cases, the problem is identified during the initial visit.
In addition to our IAQ testing, we also provide comprehensive mold services.
ECG’s IAQ services include:
Complaint-Based Investigations - Often in Response to Tenant Concerns
Proactive Testing for Indoor Air Pollutants, such as Carbon Monoxide, VOCs, and Particulates
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Testing for Certification Purposes
Complaint-Based Indoor Air Quality Investigations
An IAQ investigation typically begins with a reason for concern, such as an occupant complaint. The process usually starts with a meeting with the client and/or engineer to get a description of the problem and to hear more about the specifics of the complaint. In some cases, a simple meeting can result in a quick diagnosis and resolution of the problem. In other cases, the meeting indicates a need for IAQ testing by an experienced environmental professional.
Proactive indoor air quality testing is conducted in commercial and industrial facilities to ensure high quality indoor air. In general, the purpose of industrial air quality testing is to determine whether environmental conditions within the building are consistent with generally accepted guidelines. ECG currently provides proactive annual commercial air quality testing services for dozens of clients in the greater Chicagoland area. Our services also include providing an air quality test for mold. If it is discovered, we also provide comprehensive mold consulting services
to help you mitigate such situations.
IAQ Testing for LEED Certification
IAQ testing is often requested by clients that are attempting to obtain a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certificate. The objective of LEED IAQ testing is to ensure high quality indoor air in their building after construction and during occupancy. The testing must demonstrate that contaminants do not exceed certain concentration levels. ECG has helped many commercial and industrial clients successfully obtain their LEED IAQ credit.
