If your home was built prior to 1978, there is a very good chance it has lead-based paint. In 1978, the U.S. government banned consumer uses of lead-containing paint. Lead from paint, including lead-contaminated dust, is one of the most common causes of lead poisoning.

ECG’s residential lead testing services can help you determine if lead paint is present in your home. For all lead projects, ECG utilizes Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH)-licensed lead inspectors and lead risk assessors. We have conducted hundreds of lead-based paint inspections in full compliance with state and federal regulations.
ECG uses an x-ray fluorescence (XRF) meter to check for lead-based paint. The meter allows for immediate testing results. Testing can also be conducted by collecting paint chip samples along with laboratory analysis.
