Developers
Developers represent one of ECG's largest client groups because of our ability to provide quality environmental services on time and within budget. Twelve years of experience working with developers large and small has taught ECG that developers usually have tight time frames and limited budgets during their due diligence periods. While this deters many consulting firms from pursuing developers as clients, ECG has gained a reputation of providing developers with fast response and quick report turn-around times.
Most commonly, ECG provides developers with environmental site assessments (ESAs). ESAs are a standard requirement for transactions involving commercial and industrial properties. These studies are conducted during the critical due diligence period and can prevent a potential buyer from incurring significant environmental liabilities and cleanup costs.
When site assessments reveal contamination on the properties, ECG can help clients obtain a "No Further Remediation" (NFR) letter from the Illinois EPA. The NFR letter signifies a release from further responsibilities to perform remedial action and is considered evidence that the site does not constitute a threat to human health or the environment. In many cases, an NFR letter can be obtained without conducting actual remediation at the site.
