Demolition Permit Inspection
ECG is licensed to conduct inspections for asbestos containing materials (ACMs) prior to building demolition. During the inspection, a licensed ECG representative collects samples of various suspect materials. The samples are brought to a lab where they are tested for asbestos using the Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) method. PLM is the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized method for determining asbestos content in bulk samples.
An ECG representative can be on site within 24 to 48 hours, and a written report summarizing the laboratory results is generally provided within two to three business days. The cost of a typical demolition permit inspection for a house is $400 plus $25 per sample collected. For a garage, the typical cost is $300 plus $25 per sample collected. Prices are subject to change based on location and the size of the project.
